Open House Information

Hi Families!

Happy Friday! I wanted to give you some information about Open House. Open house is Thursday night, October 3rd. This is going to look different than these nights have looked before- in a very exciting way! The night will begin at 5:45 (if you wish) for a dedication of the rock climbing wall in the gym. Open House will begin at 6:00 in our classroom afterward. The students will be showing you around our room and giving you a glimpse of what our day is like- so yes, the students come with you! We also have some amazing writing to share with you that the dragonflies are very excited about. This night is for the students to show you their learning space and for you to take a peek at our day to day routine.

I will also have a sign up posted at Open House for our first fall conferences. If you are unable to make it, please just reach out to me and I can set up a conference time with you! :) There will be more information about conferences coming out soon!

Have a great weekend!

Hi Families!
I wanted to make you aware that we have a room parent for our class this year! Stephanie Ciccanesi will be our room parent and will help with the planning of celebrations or special gatherings. She will also be sending out the list of family emails that are useful for organizing play dates!

When special events come up, you will hear from myself and Stephanie for the details! She can be reached at sciccanesi@gmail.com ! Thank you so much for your attention to this and we are both excited to get this year rolling!

Happy Friday!

Hello Families!
I hope everyone had as great of a week as we have in our classroom! This week was most exciting because we really settled in with our schedule and routines and were able to break out into some true reader's, writers, & math workshops! Although we are easing into first grade, we are definitely getting a handle on what is expected and trying our best. You will see that work is coming home this week in Friday folders! Some of this work is handwriting practice and others are from our math workshop. Next week we will venture into the world of Seesaw and start posting some of our work on there to share with you! I will send home scan codes for you to access your child's work!

These pictures include some work that is displayed in our classroom such as some summer writing memories and some very cool hashtagging! Other photos include us getting to know our space and working hard with our friends! As we enter into more first grade curriculum, I will be writing on the blog some main learning points from each subject area so you can chat with your child at home about their learning! I hope you enjoy seeing some of our special moments here in first grade!
