Wax Museum!

Hi Everyone!
I hope you had a great weekend! We are definitely feeling some excited energy revolving around our upcoming wax museum! We can't wait to have you join us this Friday morning for the offiicial Second Grade Wax Museum event with the theme of Change Makers! Families are welcome to come "push our buttons" and make us come to life on Friday morning from 9:00-9:45! The students have been researching and preparing for this event and they are definitely excited! We hope you can join us! Please pack a change of clothes for your dragonfly the day of the wax museum!

When you arrive at the wax museum, we want you to interract with us and ask us questions! We've been working on our thoughtful answers and we've been practicing at school. If you would like to practice these questions at home with your dragonfly, I will write them below! Some friends are still getting a little stage fright when answering, but don't let them fool you, they've got the information in their brains- which is why some extra practice may be helpful!

1. Tell me about yourself.
2. When and where were you born?
3. Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
4. Describe one of your character traits.
5. How have you helped change our world?

*Just a friendly reminder that we will be exchanging valentines in our classroom on February 14th!*
*There is an early release on February 14th. Students will be dismissed at 12:50!*

100th Day and Global Play Day!

100th Day
I hope you've had a great week! Our 100th day of learning will be February 4th! We will be celebrating and doing many activities around the friendly number of 100! We can't wait to celebrate in our classroom!

Global Play Day
Our school is planning to celebrate Global School Play Day on Wednesday, February 6th. We feel strongly that students need to have opportunities to unplug and connect with their peers for extended unstructured play. There are almost 300,000 students across the world who are registered for this event, so we are not alone!

Students may bring in a toy (or set) from home. This needs to be a toy that your child is willing to share with others. We also recommend choosing something that is durable and not valuable, because sometimes things get broken.

Please use these lists as guidelines when helping your child decide what to bring. Your child always has the option to not bring anything at all! We have many games and activities already available at school.
