We did it! Happy Summer! 🏖

End of the Year Recap!
It is with an extremely full heart (and possibly misty eyes) that I can write to you and say that our year together has come to an end. I can't thank you enough for all of the time, effort, communication, support, and love you gave to our classroom this year. Your extremely generous end of the year gift to me was so thoughtful. I absolutely loved it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Notes to individually thank your family and dragonfly are headed your way- so be on the look out! Working with your families and getting to know you has been so special to me this year. If you have younger children I hope to work with you again and if not, I am glad to be able to call you friends now that we have shared this amazing year. Thank you for giving me these wonderful people to share my day with. Knowing that they are the future makes me excited to see how they will impact our community, nation, and world.

Enough with the sappiness.. Here are some pictures of our end of the year activities. There are tons of pictures- you might even see yourself in one! There are pictures from the Maker Fest, Art Fest, Author's Tea, Great Bay Discovery Center, field day, National Park Day, Can't Stop The Seedling, and math rotations with 2H. We continued learning right up until our last day of school. The last month of learning had a huge focus on empowerment. Students chose what mini lessons they would like to attend to review second grade topics in math. They designed our room as the Everglades National Park and independently researched animals and plants to teach other second graders. For word work they thought of new words that applied to their weekly rule and then made up their own practice activities. These dragonflies are more than ready for third grade and although I am sad to see them leave my classroom and move onto another classroom family, I know they will accomplish great things! Please unsubscribe after viewing this last blog post, unless you would like to relive second grade for another year.😉

Have a safe & happy summer and thank you again for making our year as great as it was!

....And just like that June 18th came WAY too quick. I will see you all in August!
