Yay for 2022!

 Hi Families!

I hope you are doing well! It's been such a fun start to 2022 in the dragonfly class! We've been loving every moment of being together! Can you believe report cards will be going home at the end of this week? Stay tuned for information about our report cards and how they are organized! I'm so excited for you to read about your child's growth in first grade, it is such a magical year!

I wanted to share some photos from the fun times in our classroom. There are some photos from before holiday break and some from our return that I think you'd love to check out! The students have been working so hard every day. If they haven't told you already, our days are jam packed! Since the start of the new year, our days feel busier than ever with the start of new units and our current assessment window we are in. Recently we've spent time reading and writing non fiction, learning subtraction strategies/ strengthening our word problem strategies, diving into our adaptation inquiry around unique animal features, practicing short and long vowels, writing our "Time of Day" books, and recognizing our feelings along with our friends'- just to name a FEW! We've been encouraging students to grow their independence in stretching words in writing and decoding words in reading. I have been so impressed with students being brave with their learning and not giving up when something gets tricky! Enjoy these pictures!
