Helpful Reminders & Tips For This Week!

Hi All! 

Ready..set..CRAZINESS! The time has come and it's all hands on deck for the end of the year! I wanted to reach out to you and just give some helpful reminders and tips for the upcoming events! I will do this again as other events get closer!

For Thursday:

We will be having a school performance at 2:00 on Thursday. Students will be running through the show exactly as it will run on Thursday night. Students CAN wear their blue attire for the day show but do not have to. Students MUST wear blue for the evening show. A blue top and jean bottoms is suggested, however blue shorts, leggings, or skirts are totally fine too! We are so excited to share our hard work with you! Please have your child arrive to our classroom at 6:15 on Thursday night!

Grand Luncheon:

You should register online and have tickets for your child's grand luncheon guest by this Friday, May 24th. The link is http://bit.ly/smsgl2019

Our guests will eat lunch with us on June 3rd from 11:40-12:15 and the cost is 5$!

Author's Tea

This event is at 9:00 on June 4th! Please prepare for your students to dress "fancier" than usual! We hope to see you there!

Great Bay

If you would like your child to buy lunch for our field trip on June 5th please email me as soon as possible so I can get their order in! Thank you so much!

I wanted to say THANK YOU to all the Stratham families for making this such a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week for the entire SMS staff.  We were spoiled with 5 days of snacks, cookies, breakfast, luncheons, and delicious homemade soups!  I feel so fortunate to teach in a school with such supportive families! 

Thank you also to Mrs. Maloney and Mrs. Benson for taking time out of their schedule to cover paras for lunch and recess duty on Tuesday.  I know everyone enjoyed being able to eat lunch together! 

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day.  Thank you for sharing your amazing children with me everyday!  I hope you have a wonderful day with your families.

Field Trip to Great Bay! 🐠

Hello Again! 

We have a field trip to wrap up our year of learning together! We will be going to Great Bay Discovery Center (right down the road) to explore the estuary! Our field trip date is June 5th. Since this field trip is so close to school, we are welcoming any chaperones to join us! If you'd like to join us for the field trip, please email me! We will be leaving school at 9:10 am and arriving back to school at 12:30 (a small adjustment from the original post). We just ask that you meet us at Great Bay, the field trip begins with a tour at 9:30! Field trip forms will be coming home today! We hope you can join us!

The cost for students is $4.00
The cost for chaperones is $4.00

Please send the permission slip and money to school with your child! We appreciate your attention to this and we can't wait for this fun day!

Important Dates

May 8th- Wellness Walk 

We hope you can join our class for this year's Wellnes Walk! You can meet our class as we walk through the bus loop around 1:25! Please make sure to send your child to school with sneakers and a water bottle for this day! We hope you can join us for this fun event! 

May 8th- Friendly Neighborhood Helpers 

Our class will be watching and supporting our first grade friends as they perform in their Friendly Neighbordhood Helpers play! Can you believe that was a whole year ago for these second graders?!

May 16- Early Release

Students will be dismissed at 12:50!

May 17- Wild Life Enounters

We are so lucky to get this fieldrip experience brought to us in our very own classroom! We will get to see many animals and talk about their role in our environment. We will also connect this with our current plant unit. 

May 30th- Can't Stop the Seedling School Performance at 2:05

We are so excited to present this plant play to you! The students will be showing off all of their plant knowledge in this fun performance! We would love for your family to come and enjoy the show! 

May 31st- Great Bay for 2M & 2B 

Students will leave SMS at 9:00 and arrive back to school at 12:30. We will be eating snack at Great Bay, so please send your child to school with a snack from home! If you would like to join us for the field trip you are more than welcome to! We just ask that you meet us at Great Bay around 9:10! Please email your classroom teacher if you are interested in chaperoning. A field trip form will be coming home as the date gets closer- so be on the lookout!

June 3rd- Grand Luncheon

This is such a special day at SMS. Grandparents or a special guest are welcome to come in and join us for lunch. Lunch times & classroom events will be sent out as the date gets closer.

June 4th- 2D Author's Tea

Students will be sharing their writing from the year with special guests. This event will start at 9:00 and run for about an hour. We hope you can join us for this special morning in our classroom!

June 5th- Great Bay for 2P, 2H, 2D

Students will leave SMS at 9:00 and arrive back to school at 12:30. We will be eating snack at Great Bay, so please send your child to school with a snack from home! Author's Tea🍋

Hi Everyone! 

The dragonflies are ready to share with you all of their great writing progress throughout their second grade year! We have so much writing to share with you! We would love for you to join us for our Author's Tea event on Tuesday, June 4th! We will start our tea at 9:00 in our classroom! The event will start with a poem reading as a class and then we will break off with our guests to read all of our original pieces of writing to you! Students should dress up for this event and can absolutely bring a change of comfy clothes for after! We hope you can join us for this event! If you know that you will not be able to send in a guest for your dragonfly please let me know so that we can invite a special adult from the building as your child's guest.

Can't Stop The Seedling! 🌻

Hi Everyone! 

Our second grade performance of Can't Stop The Seedling will be held on May 30th at 6:30! Our class will be the "water" role 💧. Mark your calendars because it may be the cutest thing you've ever seen! Students should wear a blue shirt and jean bottoms for the perfomance. In order to purchase props for the play, we ask that each dragonfly bring in 2 dollars! You can send this money in to class with your dragonfly! Thank you so much for your support with this and we hope to see you there!
